Kohler Waters Spa at the Old Course Hotel

The Gold Collection view

Kohler Waters Spa is one of the clearest Spa & Golf fits in St Andrews because the spa is genuinely recovery-led rather than simply decorative. The hotel’s position beside the Old Course gives the stay a sense of occasion, while the spa’s water, heat and cold experiences are especially well suited to golfers after a long day on the links.

Water-led recovery

The spa’s defining character is contrast. Sauna, cold plunge, steam and hydrotherapy create a structured sequence that works particularly well after walking links golf. The separate bookable snow-and-sauna cabin adds a more private hot-and-cold ritual for up to two guests.

Relaxation areas and the Spa Café give the experience enough breathing room to avoid turning recovery into a rush between facilities.

Treatments & wellness

The treatment menu covers massage, facials and body therapies, with product partners including Ground Wellbeing, NEOM, Bamford, Omorovicza and Phytomer. The wider wellness calendar can also include yoga, floating sound baths, sleep workshops and expert-led sessions.

St Andrews golf

The Old Course Hotel overlooks the links, but proximity does not mean automatic Old Course access. Tee times are controlled separately and can depend on packages, ballot arrangements or other live availability. The hotel’s golf team can also support planning for The Duke’s and other leading courses in Fife and beyond.

That distinction matters: book the golf route first, then build spa recovery around confirmed tee times.

The wider stay

The hotel’s appeal is the combination of landmark setting, substantial hospitality and access to multiple golf experiences. For couples with different priorities, spa and golf can operate independently during the day while the hotel provides the shared base.
