Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa

The Gold Collection view

Formby Hall is a practical Spa & Golf resort rather than an intimate retreat, and that is part of its strength. The spa and thermal facilities are large enough to support meaningful recovery, while the golf offer includes a full-length course, a shorter par-three option and substantial practice infrastructure.

Pool & thermal suite

The 20-metre pool anchors the leisure experience, supported by a Himalayan salt sauna, steam room, laconium cabin, experience showers, ice fountain and heated relaxation beds. The result is a stronger post-round recovery environment than a standard hotel leisure club.

Some experiences, including the Rasul, can be attached to specific packages rather than ordinary leisure use, so inclusions need to be checked at booking.

ESPA treatments

There are ten treatment rooms, including three designed for couples. The current treatment offer is led by ESPA rituals, massage and skincare, making it useful for both shared spa breaks and golf recovery.

Golf & practice

The Old Course extends beyond 7,000 yards from the back tees, while the nine-hole par-three course offers a quicker alternative. The practice setup includes Toptracer, short-game areas and PGA tuition.

Formby Hall also sits within a strong wider golf region, making it useful as a base for golfers who want on-site play plus access to the Sefton coast.

Resort stay

With 76 bedrooms and a resort-scale sporting focus, Formby Hall suits couples, friends and golf groups that want spa recovery built into the same property. It works best when spa and golf are booked as coordinated parts of the stay rather than treated as last-minute extras.

Practical planning

Reserve golf tee times, treatment appointments and thermal access separately where required. If travelling as a mixed-interest couple, book both itineraries before finalising the room rate.
